42% OF RESPONDENTS SHOP ONLINE ON FOREIGN SITES SEVERAL TIMES PER MONTH – SURVEY

MTM (Media Analysis Center) conducted a survey among citizens about online shopping and asked for their opinions. 56% of the 622 participants in the survey were women, and 44% were men.

According to the responses to the question, “How often do you shop online on foreign websites?” 6% of respondents shop on foreign websites several times per week, 42% several times per month, and 35% several times per year. 17% of the respondents opted for “Other” option.

The next question asked respondents which products they order most often online. The responses of the participants, who had the opportunity to select several options, were as follows:

Clothing and footwear– 81%;

Perfume and cosmetics – 28%;

Books – 24%;

Other – 23%;

Household items – 11%;

Sports equipment and dietary supplements – 8%;

Cell phones – 5%;

Toys – 4%;

Furniture – 1%.

Half of the respondents said that they remembered their expenses, while 28% said that they did not calculate them. 22% of respondents indicated that they write down all their expenses.

Responses were also used to determine what participants preferred when choosing a shipping company. 62% of respondents who had three or fewer options to choose from look for low delivery costs, 59% look for excellent customer service, and 43% for the proximity of the company’s office to their home.
25% of participants prefer companies that deliver all items regardless of category. The results show that 24% of respondents value the company’s return service. The “other” option was selected by 14% of respondents, while 19% indicated that they asked a friend for recommendations when selecting a shipping company.

When answering the question “Why do you order online instead of in-store?” participants could choose up to 2 options. 61% of the surveyed responded that ordering online is more profitable. Online shopping sites offer a wide selection, said 50% of respondents. 33% of respondents chose the option “The products I ordered aren’t available in the area where I live.” 27% of survey respondents said online ordering saves time, while 11% chose the “other” option.
