
The second Shusha Global Media Forum, themed “Unmasking False Narratives: Confronting Disinformation,” continued with its panel sessions.
One key session, titled “AI’s Impact on Reality, Media and Disinformation: Promoting Media Literacy,” was moderated by Saynur Tezel, a representative of Haber Global and renowned TV host.
The panel featured speakers including Leslie Richer, Director of Information and Communication of the African Union (AU), Hamza Azhar Salam, Editor at the Pakistan Daily newspaper, Professor Giwoong Jung of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, and Paolo von Schirach, President of the Global Policy Institute (GPI) in the US.
Discussions centered on technologies influencing the spread and prevention of disinformation, the impact of AI on reality, media, and disinformation, and the crucial role of media literacy in combating false information.
The session also focused on enhancing consumer media literacy as a solution to the challenges posed by AI in the creation and dissemination of disinformation in the digital age. It highlighted effective cooperation models between various parties to address these issues.
The Forum, attended by over 150 foreign guests from around 50 countries, including news agencies of 30 countries, three international organizations, and 82 media entities, provides a platform for joint discussions and actions among participants.
