Azerbaijani athletes will demonstrate their skills at 77th Balkan Senior Athletics Championships to be held in the Turkish city of Izmir on May 25-26.
Azerbaijan’s hopes will be pinned on Yekaterina Sariyeva, Rustam Mammadov (both triple jump), Farida Rzayeva (100 meters and 200 meters dash), Bakhtiyar Asgarli (4x400m relay and 1500m decathlon), Nazim Babayev, Kasgin Abbaszade (long jump) and Ismayil Aliyev (shot put and discus throwing).
The competition is set to welcome athletes from more than 20 countries. The winners will earn a quota for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and the 2024 European Athletics Championships to take place in Rome on June 7-12.
