President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration of the first phase of Kangarli village in the Aghdam district on May 10.
Emin Huseynov, Special Representative of the President in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts, briefed the head of state on the developments implemented in the area.
As in other liberated territories, large-scale construction work is underway in the Aghdam district. One of the key development projects is the village of Kangarli. Located six kilometers from the city center, the foundation of the village was laid by President Ilham Aliyev on October 4, 2022.
Kangarli village is designed to accommodate 2,544 residents across a total area of more than 177 hectares. A total of 632 individual houses are planned to be built in two phases. The village has been equipped with all necessary conditions to support employment and includes economic, educational, social, cultural, and public facilities. Internal roads, electricity, communication and water lines have been laid, and a gas supply has been provided.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev inspected the multifunctional administrative building constructed for local executive bodies in Kangarli village.
The facility is designed to provide public services to residents from a single location. It features a conference hall for hosting various events, along with offices equipped to ensure the efficient operation of staff.

The head of state also toured the village’s club-community center, where he reviewed the conditions created. The two-story facility includes designated rooms for dance and other hobby groups. Its hall is fully equipped to host events celebrating special occasions, as well as gatherings and meetings for young people.

Later, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Kangarli village secondary school building.
Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev briefed the President on the facilities at the school.
The 484-seat school, featuring 30 classrooms, is fully equipped to organize the educational process at a modern standard. The classrooms are furnished with essential teaching materials. The school also includes biology, chemistry, and physics laboratories, a computer science room, pre-conscription military preparation classrooms, a library, an assembly hall, a sports hall, and a canteen.
A sports field has been constructed within the school grounds, accessible not only to students but also to villagers during after-school hours. Play and recreation areas, along with landscaped greenery, further enhance the environment.
To provide electricity, solar panels have been installed on the roofs of several non-residential buildings, including the school.

President Ilham Aliyev then inaugurated a new nursery-kindergarten in the village of Kangarli.
The President learnt that the facility, built to modern standards, can accommodate 120 children and provides a healthy, nurturing environment for their development. All rooms are fully equipped, and the kindergarten will operate six groups.
The kindergarten features a playground with various attractions and sports equipment, all set within a beautifully landscaped area.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev also inspected the newly built individual houses in Kangarli village.
The first phase of resettlement will see 1,279 people move to Kangarli. 292 houses, ranging from two to five rooms, have already been completed. A total of 72.5 hectares of land has been allocated for the first phase of the village’s development, accounting for future population growth.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev met with the new residents of the village and presented them with the keys to their homes.
