MONTENEGRIN CEC CHAIRPERSON INFORMED ABOUT PREPARATIONS FOR SNAP PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IN AZERBAIJAN

Chairperson of the State Election Commission of Montenegro Nikola Mugoša was informed about the preparatory process for the snap presidential election scheduled in Azerbaijan during his meeting with Azerbaijan`s CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov.

Mazahir Panahov highlighted that Azerbaijan`s CEC oversees the proceedings of the electoral process, mentioning that the election ballots, numbering over six million, were printed by the CEC and distributed to the designated district election commissions. He underscored that more than 90,000 local and 790 international observers have been accredited to monitor the election.

The CEC Chairman also mentioned the preparatory process carried out in accordance with the Election Code and highlighted the activity of the “Election-2024” Independent Media Center, operating in relation to the election. Panahov emphasized that a total of 34 influential media organizations will cover the election, including leading global media outlets such as “Associated Press”, “BBC”, “Al Jazeera”, “Kyodo” and others.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation to observe the election in Azerbaijan, Montenegrin CEC Chairman Nikola Mugoša wished Azerbaijan success in its transparent and fair election. Speaking about the experience of conducting electronic voting, Mugoša emphasized the importance of professionally processing every piece of information.

During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
