MEXICAN PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATION VISITS AZERBAIJAN’S CITY OF SHUSHA

A delegation led by Chairman of the Mexico-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group of the Chamber of Deputies of the Mexican Congress Alberto Villa Villegas has today visited Azerbaijan’s city of Shusha.
The visitors were briefed about the history of Shusha, situation in the city during and after the Armenian occupation, as well as the reconstruction works carried out in the city under the direct supervision of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva.
They also viewed a host of historical monuments located in the city, including Yukhari Govhar Agha and Ashaghi Govhar Agha mosques, the Walls of the Shusha Fortress, as well as the shot monuments of Azerbaijan’s prominent cultural figures Khurshidbanu Natavan, Bulbul and Uzeyir Hajibayli at the Central Square of Shusha.
They also visited the Jidir Duzu plain, which has become a venue for grand events, as it once was before the occupation.
