MEETING OF AZERBAIJANI CULTURAL AMBASSADORS HELD IN ROME

On December 18, a meeting of cultural ambassadors of Azerbaijan was held at the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Rome, Italy. The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan with the support of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Italy and the State Committee for Work with Diaspora.
At the beginning of the meeting, the conductor and composer Abuzar Manafzadeh, a laureate of international competitions, performed the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, after which a video clip was presented. During the meeting, ambassador of Azerbaijan to Italy, Rashad Aslanov, expressed his pleasure at welcoming Azerbaijan’s artistic and cultural personalities to Rome. He gave an overview of the activities of the Cultural Center under the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Italy. In his speech, Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan, Adil Karimli, emphasized that all the participants of the event are valuable compatriots who have achieved remarkable successes in various cultural fields, contributed to the promotion of Azerbaijani culture, and preserved the national identity, regardless of where they live. He hailed their dedication to the promotion of Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage and commitment to the motherland as highly commendable.
Adil Karimli noted that the meeting, held on the eve of the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day, serves to strengthen national unity, gives a new impetus to the global promotion of Azerbaijani culture, and plays an important role in presenting cultural values to the international community.
He emphasized that Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage has always been preserved, enriched, and passed on to future generations with special care by the state. He also highlighted the contributions of national leader Heydar Aliyev, who has prioritized cultural development, recognized the potential of artists, supported young talents, and facilitated their professional growth through opportunities for education abroad. Under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the development of culture has been established as a priority of state policy, and continuous and effective measures have been taken to preserve and promote Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage.

The efforts of Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, First Vice President and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, as a patron of Azerbaijani culture, including her support for creative people and artists and her commitment to promoting national cultural values at the international level, have significantly enriched the country’s cultural treasure. Thanks to this active support, Azerbaijani culture is reaching a wider audience worldwide, and the country’s artists are successfully representing it on prestigious stages around the world. The Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora, Fuad Muradov, highlighted the work of the Azerbaijani diaspora and noted the important contribution of Azerbaijanis living abroad to the promotion of the country’s culture on a global scale. Gunay Efendiyeva, Deputy Chairperson of the Milli Majlis Cultural Committee, highlighted the exceptional contributions of the cultural ambassadors at the meeting in promoting Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage.

Then a video clip about Azerbaijani culture and art was presented. Prominent Azerbaijani cultural figures, including theater and film actor, Honored Artist, People’s Artist and Çukurova University Professor Jahangir Novruzov; Chairman of the Union of Composers of Azerbaijan, People’s Artist Firangiz Alizadeh; Head of the “Togrul Narimanbeyov” Association in France and Associate Professor at the Azerbaijan Academy of Arts, Honored Artist Asmar Narimanbeyova; Head of the Azerbaijan-American Music Foundation Jamila Javadova-Spitsberg, Professor of the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, People’s Artist Yalchin Adigozalov, Secretary of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union, People’s Writer Chingiz Abdullayev and People’s Artist, famous film and theater actor Fakhraddin Manafov delivered speeches. They emphasized the importance of the meeting and the continuous support of the Azerbaijani state to the representatives of culture and art.
