GEORGIAN DELEGATION VISITS AZERBAIJAN`S CENTRAL ELECTION COMMISSION

A Georgian delegation led by Chairman of the Central Election Commission Giorgi Kalandarishvili, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan to monitor the snap presidential election, has today visited the Central Election Commission.

During the meeting with Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan (CEC) Mazahir Panahov, the sides hailed the high level of relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia. They emphasized that these relations also contributed to close cooperation between the supreme electoral authorities of the two countries.

The Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission pointed out that mutual relations and exchange of experience played an important role in improving the electoral system.

Mazahir Panahov noted that all conditions have been created for voters to come to the polls, and express their will freely and independently.

Head of the Georgian delegation Giorgi Kalandarishvili mentioned that transparency is of particular importance in the election process, highlighting the significance of exchanging experience in this field. The Georgian CEC chief expressed his confidence that the elections would be conducted in compliance with the law.
