“The provisions of the trilateral statement must be executed. We have held long discussions in this regard. Unfortunately, the Armenian side disregards its obligations under the trilateral statement,” said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in a joint press statement with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Azerbaijani FM noted that Azerbaijan fully complies with its obligations under the trilateral statement. On the ongoing protest on the Lachin-Khankendi road, the minister noted that all the necessary conditions had been created for ensuring transportation of civilian cargo and civilians living in Karabakh region.
Highlighting President Ilham Aliyev’s initiative on setting up border checkpoints, which was put forward to Armenian side during the Munich Security Conference, Jeyhun Bayramov said: “As a result, transparency may be ensured and the issue may be resolved. If Armenia is really interested in defusing the tension, we can achieve this. We do not think that rejecting this would be a good idea.”
