“Music is one of the most powerful means of national artistic self-expression. It brings people together, transcends borders, and conveys emotions freely. It is difficult to imagine another art form as deeply connected to human emotions as music. Musicians worldwide communicate in their own artistic language, and the Azerbaijani people boast a rich musical heritage,” Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to France, Leyla Abdullayeva said at a concert held at the embassy’s Cultural Center. The event featured teachers and students from the Massy Conservatory of Music and Dance performing works by Azerbaijani composers. She emphasized the significance of such concerts, stating that regular events like these benefit composers, performers, and audiences alike.
The concert included performances of Azerbaijani folk songs and pieces by composers such as Fikrat Amirov, Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Gara Garayev, Asaf Zeynalli, Musa Mirzayev, Tofig Guliyev, Ashraf Abbasov, Ismayil Hajibeyli, Rauf Hajiyev, and Agabaji Rzayeva. Works by international composers like Claude Debussy, Frédéric Chopin, Maurice Ravel, and Fazıl Say were also performed on piano, flute, and clarinet.
The concert concluded with Fazıl Say’s “Black Earth” and Tofig Guliyev’s “Gaytagi”, performed by pianist Saida Zulfugarova.
