
An Azerbaijani delegation led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev, comprising senior officials from the Presidential Administration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Prosecutor General’s Office, is participating in the Eleventh Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, being held in Doha, the capital of the State of Qatar.
The event brings together official delegations from more than 130 countries, as well as representatives of numerous international and regional organizations.
During the session, participants discussed the Conference’s activities and elected the Chair and Deputy Chairs of the Assembly. Rovshan Sadigbayli, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Vienna, the OSCE, and other international organizations, was elected Deputy Chair of the Eleventh Session of the Conference of the States Parties for the Eastern European region.
Addressing the plenary session, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev noted that fundamental reforms have been implemented in Azerbaijan in the field of combating corruption. He emphasized that Azerbaijan is an active participant in a number of international and regional initiatives and has also become a venue for major global events.
Adish Mammadov, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to the State of Qatar, is also taking part in the session.
