AZERBAIJAN`S PRIME MINISTER ATTENDS INTERNATIONAL FORUM “DIGITAL ALMATY 2025”

Ali Asadov, Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister, participated in the international forum “Digital Almaty 2025” in Kazakhstan.

Addressing the event, Ali Asadov highlighted the importance of the forum, which provides an effective platform for exploring issues of digital development and innovation, as well as seeking solutions to challenges in digital transformation. He noted that as a key element of its state strategy, Azerbaijan attaches special importance to digital development.

He emphasized that on January 16, Azerbaijan approved the Digital Development Concept, which outlines strategic priorities for the sector and positions digital transformation as a key national objective.

“Artificial intelligence is one of the main priorities of the digital development strategy. Currently, we are working on Azerbaijan’s Artificial Intelligence Strategy. We attach special importance to identifying priority sectors where the application of artificial intelligence technologies can significantly increase the efficiency and quality of services. These include, first and foremost, healthcare, transport, and education,” Ali Asadov noted.

The Prime Minister stressed that special attention is being paid to the preparation and implementation of modern legislation in Azerbaijan.

“I particular, the legal framework for the use of a number of documents in digital format has been created. This simplifies coordination between citizens and state institutions and contributes to the creation of a convenient and accessible digital ecosystem,” the Prime Minister added.

Ali Asadov emphasized the need to create a reliable infrastructure to ensure access to up-to-date digital services for all segments of society, in line with the goals of digital transformation. He described high-speed Internet access as one of the basic elements of this infrastructure.

“Among the pivotal initiatives aimed at developing internet infrastructure, we should particularly highlight the ‘Online Azerbaijan’ project, which connects over 99 percent of all residential and commercial facilities to high-speed broadband internet,” Ali Asadov emphasized.

The Prime Minister underscored that one of the vital steps taken toward the digitalization of public administration was the creation of the “digital government” platform. The “Digital Bridge” national information exchange system, which fully digitalizes the process of information exchange between state institutions, has also been implemented. The “Government Cloud” project has been launched to increase the efficiency of public administration. “All these are just a small part of the projects implemented to create a sustainable, modern, and secure digital infrastructure necessary for the development of ‘e-government’ and the acceleration of digital transformation,” the Prime Minister added.

Emphasizing that digital transformation is not just a technological process, but also an opportunity to strengthen international cooperation, Ali Asadov reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to advancing joint efforts toward building a sustainable digital future.
