The Media Development Agency of Azerbaijan has issued a statement regarding the fake news circulated across various social media platforms.
The statement reads: “A false comment allegedly made on behalf of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding the statements of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been circulated on several social media accounts. These fabricated claims, which have taken on the nature of a coordinated campaign in recent days, are a blatant example of information manipulation aimed at misleading public opinion.
We urge the public to trust only information provided by official sources and to obtain statements reflecting the official position of the state from national news agencies and other professional media entities.
We call on Azerbaijani citizens, journalists, and public activists to always uphold a principled stance against such incidents and to remain vigilant in an environment where fake and false information-based campaigns are on the rise.”
