The Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan released a statement.
The statement reads: “A false (misleading) and inaccurate statement concerning Azerbaijan-Russia relations, allegedly issued on behalf of Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has been circulated across multiple social media platforms. This fabricated message, which imitates the official website of the President of Azerbaijan and contains baseless claims, exemplifies a clear attempt at information manipulation designed to mislead public opinion.
We strongly encourage the public to rely solely on information from official sources and remind everyone that the government’s official stance can be verified through reputable channels, including national news agencies and established media outlets.
We call on Azerbaijani citizens, journalists, and public activists to stand firm against such incidents and to remain alert in an environment where fake news and false information campaigns are increasingly prevalent.”
