A UK-Azerbaijan strategic dialogue has taken place with visiting Azerbaijan`s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and UK Minister of State for Europe Leo Docherty in attendance.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on many aspects of political consultations between Azerbaijan and UK, issues of the strategic dialogue and discussed issues of mutual interest on the regional and international agenda.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov gave insight into the current situation in the region, peacebuilding steps taken by Azerbaijan, the country`s stance concerning the normalization of the two countries` relations as well as the restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories.
He drew Leo Docherty`s attention that Armenia’s violating the terms of the trilateral statement undermines peace building efforts in the region. The Foreign Minister hailed UK`s contribution to demining of Azerbaijan`s liberated territories and their intention to actively participate in the reconstruction and restoration of these territories.
The parties also discussed cooperation in a multilateral format within international organizations, including relations with the European Union, as well as the situation in Ukraine.
