Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, met on Thursday with Imma Tor Faus, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Principality of Andorra, on the sidelines of the 31st OSCE Ministerial Council in Valletta, Malta.
The sides discussed the prospects for bilateral and multilateral relations between the two countries, as well as issues arising from Azerbaijan’s COP29 Presidency and regional and international matters on the agenda.
Minister Bayramov provided insight into Azerbaijan’s Presidency of the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the outcomes of the session, noting that significant decisions were made, particularly regarding climate finance. Additionally, FM Bayramov commended Andorra’s endorsement of six out of the nine declarations proposed by Azerbaijan’s Presidency in the fight against climate change.
Minister Imma Tor Faus was briefed on the current regional situation, the large-scale restoration and construction efforts in the liberated territories, and the progress in the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The meeting also covered other issues of mutual interest.
