
Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with outgoing Japanese Ambassador to the country Junichi Wada.
The sides affirmed the significant potential for further improving bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Japan, underscoring the importance of advancing cooperation in the fields of economy, energy, culture, tourism, agriculture, high-tech, and education. They noted the importance of holding political dialogue and high-level visits between the two countries.
FM Jeyhun Bayramov reiterated Azerbaijan’s position based on the norms and principles of international law regarding the resolution of the conflict, which was the biggest threat to the security of the region. He added that the ambassador had witnessed these historical processes in Azerbaijan. Minister Bayramov pointed out extensive opportunities for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Japan, particularly in the ongoing restoration and construction works carried out by Azerbaijan in the post-conflict period, as well as the establishment of green energy zones and as part of free economic zones.
FM Bayramov thanked the Japanese ambassador for his efforts to develop relations between the two countries during his tenure in Azerbaijan, and wished him success in his future activities.
Ambassador Junichi Wada thanked the state and government authorities and organizations in Azerbaijan for supporting him during his tenure.
The two also exchanged views on other topics of mutual interest.
