AZERBAIJAN’S DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER MEETS WITH IOC MEMBER

Shahin Mustafayev, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister, met Saturday with Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Deputy President of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), President of the Badminton Association of Thailand (BAT).

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the consistent measures implemented for the development of sports in Azerbaijan.

He also stressed that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev pays great attention and care to the athletes.

Shahin Mustafayev pointed out that modern sports infrastructures established in the country and state care contribute to athletes’ achievements in the international arena.

The Deputy Premier underscored that Azerbaijan plays host to major international sporting events, featuring various sport disciplines.

Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul hailed the excellent organization of another edition of Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku.

The sides discussed the prospects for expanding cooperation between the Azerbaijan Badminton Federation (ABF) and the BWF.

The meeting also saw an exchange of views on possibilities of establishing relations between the ABF and BAT.
