
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev met with a delegation led by Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
The sides commended the development of Azerbaijan-Iran interstate relations across various domains, also hailing the dynamics of bilateral political dialogue.
Both sides acknowledged that the official visit of the President of Iran to Azerbaijan in April of this year opened a new chapter in the advancement of bilateral relations between the two countries, which have historically been built on solid foundations of friendship and good neighborliness.
The discussions during the meeting centered around topical issues on the agenda of mutually beneficial cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran, as well as prospects for strengthening relations in trade, economic, transport, energy, water management, humanitarian and other areas.
During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on developing international transport and transit corridors crossing through Azerbaijan and Iran, with a focus on implementing joint projects to expand the region’s transit potential.
