AZERBAIJAN’S CULTURAL HERITAGE AND TOURISM POTENTIAL SHOWCASED AT UNIVERSITY EXHIBITION IN MALAYSIA

Azerbaijan is taking part at a traditional exhibition co-organized with the Cultural Centre operating under the prestigious International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

The exhibition, dedicated to promoting the culture and tourism of Muslim countries, featured national stands from several countries, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Oman, Yemen, and Syria.

Supported by the Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Malaysia, the national stand showcases the rich cultural heritage and tourism potential of the country. Visitors are provided with detailed information about Azerbaijan’s history, traditions, achievements in the tourism sector, current travel routes, samples listed in UNESCO’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage, as well as winter tourism opportunities. The display also features traditional clothing, carpets, kelaghayi (traditional Azerbaijani women’s headwear), and other examples of craftsmanship.

Zulkifli bin Hasan, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs of Malaysia, representatives of the diplomatic corps, academic staff, and students attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

The exhibition will run until November 7.
