Azerbaijan’s weightlifter Ali Shukurlu (109 kg) has claimed a gold medal at the 2023 European Junior & U23 Weightlifting Championships in Bucharest, Romania after lifting 195 kg in the clean and jerk event.
Shukurlu also bagged a silver medal after lifting 160 kg in the snatch event.
He lifted a total of 355 kg (160+195) to secure his second silver medal of the championships.
The event brings together 394 athletes (187 female and 207 male) from 34 countries.
