
Azerbaijani skiers Jeyhun Balametov grabbed a gold, while Famil Valimotov clinched a bronze medal at the First Turkic Ski Cup held at Amirsoy Resort in Uzbekistan, marking a significant milestone in the promotion of winter sports across the Turkic world.
The event was jointly organized under the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) by the founding members of the Union of Turkic Ski Resorts, including Amirsoy (Uzbekistan), Shahdag (Azerbaijan), Shymbulak (Kazakhstan), and Uludağ (Türkiye).
The Turkic Ski Cup served as a platform to showcase athletic excellence, enhance regional unity, and highlighted the growing potential of ski tourism in OTS Member States.
By bringing together over 50 winter sports enthusiasts from the Member States, the event is set to become an annual tradition, further solidifying the region’s place on the global winter sports map.
