AZERBAIJANI MOVIE JOINS ASWAN INTERNATIONAL WOMEN FILM FESTIVAL IN EGYPT

“Banu”, a movie by Azerbaijani filmmaker Tahmina Rafaella, has been screened at the 7th Aswan International Women Film Festival held in Egypt.

The film, produced by “Noori Pictures” company, refers to the events that took place during the 44-day Patriotic War.

Honored Artist Malak Abbaszade, as well as Zaur Shafiyev, Kabira Hashimli and Jafar Hasan star in the film, jointly produced by Azerbaijan, Italy, France and Iran.

Sixty one feature, short, animated, and documentary films from different countries including Egypt, Algeria, France, Switzerland, Argentina, South Korea, Bulgaria, Latvia and other countries take part in the competitions of the AIWFF that runs from March 5 to 10.

The festival’s activities also include symposiums, lectures and filmmaking workshops for young people in Aswan, who managed through training in past editions to make qualified films that competed in Arab international film festivals.

The Aswan International Women Film Festival is the first annual Egyptian film festival that focuses on cinematic works representing women’s issues, celebrating their success stories and supporting female filmmakers in Egypt and the MENA.
