On December 8, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with his Iranian counterpart, Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
The ministers first held a one-on-one meeting, which was later continued with the participation of their delegations.
During the talks, the sides conducted a detailed exchange of views on the current agenda and prospects for bilateral relations, grounded in the principles of good neighborliness and mutual respect.
They emphasized that existing institutional mechanisms – from political consultations to the joint state commission – along with a comprehensive contractual and legal framework, provide a solid foundation for the stable and sustainable development of Azerbaijan-Iran relations. Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening these ties.
The discussions also covered cooperation within international organizations, including the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The ministers exchanged views on the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, as well as reconstruction and restoration work in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories.
