AZERBAIJAN, TÜRKIYE FOSTER MUTUAL MILITARY SECURITY

Azerbaijan and Türkiye strengthen mutual military security.

President Ilham Aliyev approved the “Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Türkiye on strengthening mutual military security.”

Under the document, consisting of eight articles, the participating states are obliged to provide mutual assistance to each other in the exercise of the right to individual and collective self-defense, recognized by Article 51 of the UN Charter, in cased one of the parties is subjected to armed aggression.

The parties shall provide each other with military assistance upon request of one of them and in line with the requirements of relevant national legislation. According to the document, the parties, in accordance with their national legislation, will enhance information exchange and collaboration in military intelligence, share information obtained in the field of military security, and harness this information during joint operations.
