Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
The discussion focused on key areas of the Azerbaijan-OSCE bilateral cooperation agenda, including the challenges currently facing the OSCE, regional and international security issues, the situation in the region, and the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process.
Minister Bayramov once again congratulated Feridun Sinirlioğlu on his appointment as OSCE Secretary General and wished him continued success in his important role.
Given the serious security challenges in Europe, they emphasized the importance of upholding international law, particularly the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the inviolability of internationally recognized borders.
FM Bayramov briefed Sinirlioğlu on the post-conflict situation in the region, stressing the need to dismantle structures leftover from the previous occupation for the effective implementation of OSCE activities, in alignment with regional realities.
In discussing the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, Bayramov noted that Armenia’s territorial claims against Azerbaijan, as reflected in its Constitution and other legal documents, remain an obstacle to the peace process.
They also exchanged views on other issues of mutual concern.
