AZERBAIJAN, KENYA EXPLORE ENHANCEMENT OF INTERPARLIAMENTARY DIALOGUE

On June 3, as part of his official visit to the Republic of Kenya, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Amason Jeffah Kingi, Speaker of the county’s Senate.

During the meeting, the discussion revolved around the current state and prospects for development of the diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Kenya, which had been shaped over past 20 years.

They underscored the key role of interparliamentary relations, particularly the interaction between the friendship groups and committees, in boosting bilateral ties.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov hailed Azerbaijan’s collaboration with Kenya within multilateral platforms, including the United Nations (UN) and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

Speaker Amason Jeffah Kingi praised Azerbaijan’s role in hosting major global events such as the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), set to take place in Azerbaijan in 2026, noting their importance in advancing the global agenda.
