Azerbaijan has presented its tourism potential at the FITUR international tourism fair in Madrid, Spain on January 18-22.
Azerbaijan`s pavilion features the presentation of the country`s tourism potential, including must-see-places, samples of national cuisine, winemaking, golf, health, cultural and mountain opportunities for winter tourism and ski centers.
As a part of the fair, the national stand of Azerbaijan was attended by Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Zurab Pololikashvili, as well as ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Spain and the Principality of Andorra, Permanent Representative to the UNWTO Ramiz Hasanov.
FITUR, the international tourism fair, ranks as one of the chief tourism sector trade events in Spain. Tour and travel agency services, hotels and resorts, coach facilities and a host of other tourist destinations are showcased during the FITUR Show.
Sustainability, innovation and cutting-edge trends is the core themes of FITUR`s content, in line with the fair`s objective of contributing to the revitalisation and growth of tourism activity. Besides, FITUR have a strong business focus during its first three days dedicated exclusively to B2B and a B2C proposal during the weekend.
More than 8.000 companies from 131 countries are taking part in the 43rd FITUR exhibition this year, and more than 120.000 people are expected to visit the fair.
