Azerbaijan participated in the fourth meeting of the heads of ministries and agencies responsible for the development of information and communication technologies (ICT) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, held in Karamay, China.
Bakhtiyar Mammadov, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, addressed the meeting. He briefed participants on new initiatives and projects being implemented in Azerbaijan’s ICT sector and emphasized the country’s readiness to enhance cooperation with SCO member states. He also commended the organization’s contributions to regional development.
As part of the visit, Deputy Chief Bakhtiyar Mammadov toured several of Huawei’s state-of-the-art technological facilities, including the Intelligent Transportation Systems Center and the Green Cloud Data Center. He familiarized himself with innovative technologies applied in smart transportation and sustainable digital infrastructure.
Mammadov also held a meeting with Angela Lin, Vice President of Huawei’s Middle East and Central Asia Division, along with other senior company officials. The discussions centered on prospective cooperation in the areas of digital infrastructure, smart transportation systems, and green technologies.
