
The 17th Youth Delphic Games of the CIS Member States has kicked off in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek from October 6-10.
A number of cultural and art educational institutions of Azerbaijan are representing the country at the Games.
The 17th CIS Youth Delphic Games, which brought together about 600 boys and girls, aged 10 to 25, are complex competitions in the disciplines of artistic, applied and research creativity. The contest programme consists of the following nominations: piano, violin, academic singing, solo folk singing, pop singing, folk dance, wind instruments, fine arts, artistic crafts and national instruments. The games will also include master classes, official and scientific-practical events. Proceeding from the contest results, the winners will be awarded with special nominations.
United by the general cultural heritage of peoples, the best young creators of the Commonwealth tried together to show the current level of development of art of youth.
The main objectives of the Delphic Games are: search and support of young talents; rise of the level of culture and art at the international arena; consolidation of all social groups and institutions of society for implementing global tasks within the Delphic Games; promotion and embodiment of creative and constructive initiatives of art workers and youth; promotion and spreading mankind values by means of art; popularization of the achievements of culture, arts and sports, education and science; preservation of the world cultural heritage; education of tolerance to the culture of other nations and peoples; creating the conditions for unlocking the creative, personal, intellectual capacity and financial support of workers of culture, arts, sports, education and science for implementation and realization by them the social-significant projects.
The First Youth Delphic Games of the CIS Member States took place in Bryansk, the Russian Federation, on September 13-18, 2002.
