Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture Adil Karimli met with the Italian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Luca Di Gianfrancesco on February 3.
Minister Adil Karimli noted that the long-standing strategic partnership between the two countries has provided a broad foundation for successful cultural cooperation.
The Minister observed that cultural collaboration is expanding year by year, covering a wide spectrum including the preservation and restoration of historical and cultural heritage, music, theatre, artistic education, architecture, and design. Adil Karimli specifically emphasized the active involvement of Italian companies in the restoration projects in the Azerbaijan’s liberated territories.
Ambassador Luca Di Gianfrancesco expressed his gratitude for the meeting, stating that Italy attaches great importance to cultural cooperation with Azerbaijan. The diplomat also gratefully acknowledged the contributions of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation toward the restoration of historical and religious heritage in Italy and the Vatican.
During the meeting, the parties commended the activities of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Italy and exchanged views on other issues of mutual concern.
