
Orkhan Nazarli, Head of the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, held a bilateral meeting with Raigo Uukkivi, Director General of the Tax and Customs Board of Estonia, on the sidelines of the 29th General Assembly of the Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations (IOTA), held in Baku.
The two sides discussed the current state of tax cooperation between Azerbaijan and Estonia, as well as prospects for its further development.
They exchanged views on timely detection, assessment, and prevention of tax risks; the use of digital tools to improve service quality and promote voluntary tax compliance; and innovative approaches to enhancing tax collection mechanisms.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a protocol document establishing the foundations for future cooperation. This document will serve as a roadmap for joint activities between the two countries’ tax administrations and contribute to the development of a strategic partnership.
