French “Radio J” radio channel has aired an interview with Azerbaijani Ambassador to France Leyla Abdullayeva who responded to questions from the host regarding Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s official visit to Baku as well as highlighted Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process.
Ambassador also highlighted the current realities in the region, saying that Azerbaijan and Israel enjoy strategic cooperation in economic, energy, education, humanitarian, advanced technologies and cybersecurity spheres.
The diplomat noted that the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was the first parliamentary state established in the Muslim East. Noting that Armenia committed military aggression against Azerbaijan at the end of the 20th century, the ambassador underlined that 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories was occupied by Armenia. Ambassador mentioned that Azerbaijan had liberated its lands from the 30-year-long occupation, and the country remains committed to its peaceful position towards all states, including Armenia.
Touching upon the Brussels meeting, Ambassador Abdullayeva said that Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed to recognize each other’s territorial integrity.
The diplomat underscored that Azerbaijan develops friendly, mutually beneficial bilateral and multilateral relations with all countries, thus promoting good neighboring and peaceful co-existence in the region and beyond. The ambassador also touched upon the energy security, which is one of the major areas of Azerbaijan-EU cooperation. Abdullayeva emphasized that Azerbaijan would increase energy supply to Europe, adding that Azerbaijan has great potential in the sphere of renewable energy.
