AUSTRIAN NEWSPAPER: AZERBAIJAN WILL INCREASE GAS SUPPLIES TO EUROPE IN 2023

Austrian leading newspaper Salzburger Nachrichten has published an article headlined “Azerbaijan will increase gas supply to Europe in 2023”.

The article highlighted Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev`s interview with local TV channels.

The article quoted President Ilham Aliyev as saying: “The implementation of the Memorandum on Strategic Partnership in the field of energy continues quite successfully. Whereas in 2021 we supplied a little more than 8 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe, this year it will be close to 12 billion cubic meters. As a whole, about 24 billion cubic meters of exports is expected this year.”

The article also underlined other agreements on gas transportation to Europe. “A Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Partnership in the field of energy between the European Union and the Republic of Azerbaijan” was signed in Baku On July 18, 2022. By 2027, the MoU aimed at increasing the volume of gas transportation to 20 billion cubic meters,” the article emphasized.
