
An art exhibition titled “From Preveza to the Blue Homeland” by Rafig Aziz, Honored Artist, Professor at Yeditepe University, and Chief Artist of the Turkish Naval Forces, opened at the Ankara Art and Sculpture Museum on June 20.
Organized by the Turkish Naval Forces Command, the exhibition features 35 oil paintings dedicated to the history of Turkish maritime.
These works by Rafig Aziz focus on Turkish naval history and are part of collections exhibited at the Turkish Navy’s naval museums in Istanbul, Çanakkale, Mersin, and Hatay-İskenderun, as well as the Piri Reis Museum located in the historic Gelibolu district of Çanakkale. The paintings are also included in the Ministry of National Defense’s collection.
The exhibition also displays historical artifacts preserved in the Istanbul Naval Museum, alongside several historical paintings from the museum’s collection.
In addition, the exhibition features works by Rafig Aziz dedicated to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. It will remain open until July 20.
