Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has held a telephone conversation with the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi.
The pair discussed cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and the GCC as well as prospects for the development of relations.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi on his appointment as the General Secretary and wished him success in his new post.
Speaking about the relations between Azerbaijan and the GCC member states, which are based on mutual respect, support and solidarity, the minister noted that these ties contribute to mutually beneficial cooperation within the organization.
Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on the mechanism of consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the GCC General Secretariat made an important contribution to the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the member countries. Jeyhun Bayramov stressed the importance of dialogue and mutual contacts aimed at discussing issues in this context.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov hailed the prospects of jointly implemented economic projects and touched on the results of the business forums between Azerbaijan and GCC. He emphasized the need to use the existing potential for further development of cooperation in the field of investments.
Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi noted that there are many values that unite Azerbaijan with GCC member states. He also assured that during his tenure as the general secretary of the organization, he will spare no efforts in further developing relations with Azerbaijan.
The parties conveyed mutual sincere congratulations to each other on the occasion of the upcoming Ramadan holiday and wished prosperity to the entire Islamic world.
During the telephone conversation, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
