The Moldovan “Noi”, “Timpul” and other news portals have published articles condemning the torture and inhuman treatment of a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan by Armenians.
The articles said that the fact of torturing of an Azerbaijani serviceman is a blatant violation of the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949.
Citing Azerbaijan`s Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Sabina Aliyeva’s comments regarding the facts of torture and inhumane treatment of the serviceman of Azerbaijan captured by Armenia, the article published on “Noi” portal mentioned that the international organizations should react to these facts calling on Armenia to fulfill its obligations arising from international law.
The article published on “Timpul” also featured statements of Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan condemning the incident.
