9TH MEETING OF UNESCO NATIONAL COMMISSIONS OF TURKSOY MEMBER STATES WRAPS UP IN SHUSHA

The closing ceremony of the 9th meeting of the National Commissions for UNESCO of the TURKSOY Member States co-organized by Azerbaijan’s National Commission for UNESCO under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), ADA University and the Institute for Development and Diplomacy (IDD) of the University, has been held in Shusha, the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2023.

Addressing the ceremony, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Shusha district Aydin Karimov highlighted the acts of vandalism committed by Armenia against the country`s historical and cultural heritage in the liberated city of Shusha, as well as the restoration and reconstruction works carried out by Azerbaijan.

The event also featured the presentation of the book “Shusha – Historically and Strategically Important Cultural Capital of Azerbaijan” written by Elchin Ahmadov, Professor of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Political Sciences, Head of Karabakh Heritage Research Center.

Following the closing ceremony, the participants familiarized themselves with the central Square of Shusha city, Castle walls, Jidir Duzu plain and the museum-mausoleum complex of Molla Panah Vagif.

The guests also watched the concert program organized by the “Karabakh” Mugham group.
