ANGOLA KEEN TO EXPAND COOPERATION WITH AZERBAIJAN IN VARIOUS FIELDS

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met Friday with Angolan Secretary of State for External Affairs Esmeralda Mendonca on the sidelines of the Summit-level Meeting of the NAM Contact Group in response to COVID-19 in Baku.

The meeting focused on the prospects for possible cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, educational, agricultural and other fields, including that within international organizations. The two emphasized the importance of holding political consultations to discuss outlook for development of relations.

The pair highlighted the interest of Angolan students in the scholarship programs provided by Azerbaijan for the citizens of the NAM member states.

In turn, Esmeralda da Silva Mendonca expressed Angola’s keenness to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in various fields. In this regard, she stressed the need to continue mutual contacts in order to use existing potential for development of relations between the two countries.

They hailed the importance of the Summit-level Meeting of the NAM Contact Group in response to COVID-19 for discussing cooperation opportunities in the post-pandemic period.
