AZERBAIJAN, ETHIOPIA DISCUSS PROSPECTS FOR COOPERATION IN VARIOUS AREAS

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Demeke Mekonnen Hassen, who is on a visit to the country to attend the Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement Contact Group in response to COVID-19.

The sides discussed prospects for cooperation between the two countries in economic, trade and humanitarian spheres. They highlighted the importance of organizing reciprocal visits and holding political consultations at the level of foreign ministries.

The sides underscored the significance of cooperation within international organizations, including the UN and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), as well as stressed the importance of mutual support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty within these organizations.

FM Bayramov informed the Ethiopian deputy PM about the 30-year-long occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, as well as the work carried out by the country during the post-conflict period.

During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
