Azerbaijan’s Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Sabina Aliyeva has met with Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Dmytro Lubinets on the sidelines of the international conference held in Ankara on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Ombudsman Institution of Türkiye.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of cooperation between the two countries` ombudsman institutions, as well as prospects for cooperation in the field of effective protection and ensuring the human rights in the current situation.
Sabina Aliyeva asked the Ukrainian ombudsman to keep attention to the protection of the rights of Azerbaijani citizens Misir Gasimli and Subhan Guliyev, who are currently detained in Ukraine.
During an interview at the international conference, Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets thanked Azerbaijan for the humanitarian aid provided to the Ukrainians and hailed Sabina Aliyeva`s role in this matter.
