NETWORK OF WOMEN HOLDS EVENT AS PART OF WTDC-25 IN BAKU

The Network of Women in ITU-D (NoW in ITU-D) organized a special event in Baku as part of the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-25).

The event was held to support women’s leadership in the field of information and communication technologies and to encourage their more active participation in decision-making processes.

The session was addressed by ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin and the Director of the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT), Cosmas Luckyson Zavazava.

At the event, members who contributed to the activities of the network during 2023–2025 were awarded certificates. Among them was Sahiba Hasanova, Lead Advisor of the Technological Development Department of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, Member of the Advisory Council, and Mentor of the Women’s Network for WTDC-25.

Tinatin Valiyeva, Leading Advisor at the Ministry’s International Cooperation Department, shared her experience with the participants as a mentee.

The Network of Women in the ITU Telecommunication Development Sector (NoW) is a program designed to promote women’s participation in technology and digital fields. In addition to providing educational opportunities, the network creates mentoring, experience-sharing, and coordination platforms to help women develop professional skills. These initiatives serve to strengthen female leadership in telecommunications and promote gender equality.
