The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) has opened in Shanghai, China.
Organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the Shanghai Municipal Government, and the China International Import Expo Bureau, and initiated by President Xi Jinping, the expo aims to promote the entry of foreign products and services into the Chinese market.
The event has brought together more than 4,000 participants from 155 countries and international organizations.
An Azerbaijani delegation comprising senior officials from state institutions, led by Shahin Mustafayev, Deputy Prime Minister and Co-chair of the Azerbaijan-China Intergovernmental Trade and Economic Cooperation Commission, is also attending the exhibition.
The five-day expo features products, technologies, and services in national and corporate pavilions across a 430,000-square-meter exhibition area.
With the support of the Ministry of Economy, the Trade Representative Office in China, and the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), Azerbaijan is represented this year by two pavilions — national and corporate. These pavilions showcase export-oriented products and highlight Azerbaijan’s economic potential, as well as achievements in tourism, innovation, green energy, industry, and agriculture, and the favorable business and investment climate in the country.
The “Made in Azerbaijan” stand features wine, brandy, and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, confectionery, hazelnuts, pomegranate juice, canned goods, and other products produced by Azerbaijani companies.
Since 2018, the China International Import Expo has been the world’s only import-themed exhibition held at the national level.
The expo will continue until November 10.
