Rahman Mustafayev, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia, met with Igor Babushkin, Governor of the Astrakhan Region of the Russian Federation, to discuss the prospects for cooperation.
Babushkin noted that Azerbaijan is one of the main partners of the Astrakhan Region. “In the first six months of the year, fish exports to Azerbaijan increased by 5%, and the volume of vegetables and flour products is also growing. The parties consider improving transport infrastructure as the most important task for further increasing trade volume.”
The sides drew particular attention to issues of cultural collaboration, alongside economic cooperation.
The parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue joint efforts towards the development of comprehensive cooperation and implementation of joint projects on mutually beneficial terms.
