
On June 21, Kanan Karimzade, Deputy Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, delivered a speech at the 6th International Education Technologies Summit held in Istanbul, Türkiye.
In his address, the Deputy Minister provided an overview of the reforms carried out in Azerbaijan’s science and education sectors, including the development of technology-based education models, the integration of artificial intelligence into teaching processes, and efforts to enhance digital skills education. He emphasized that artificial intelligence, biotechnology, energy technologies, and digital transformation have been identified as priority areas in Azerbaijan’s national science and innovation agenda.
Karimzade hailed the successful continuation of strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in the field of science and education, citing the “TEKNOFEST” event held in Azerbaijan in 2022 as a vivid example of this partnership.
He also spoke about the rising global rankings of Azerbaijani higher education institutions, ongoing collaborations with local and international technology partners in developing large language models, and the establishment of the “SABAH.city” innovation cluster.
In conclusion, the Deputy Minister highlighted the importance of such prestigious international platforms in fostering global cooperation in education and expressed his gratitude to Türkiye’s Minister of National Education, Yusuf Tekin, for the invitation and hospitality.
