AZERBAIJANI FM INFORMS KENYA’S TOP PARLIAMENTARY OFFICIAL ABOUT REGIONAL DEVELOPMENTS

On June 3, as part of his official visit to the Republic of Kenya, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Moses Wetang’ula, Speaker of the National Assembly of the country.

The meeting focused on various aspects of the Azerbaijan-Kenya relations, role of the parliamentary diplomacy in furthering bilateral cooperation, as well as international and regional matters of mutual concern.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan places great importance on developing relations with Kenya and boosting collaboration with the country across various domains.

The sides expressed confidence that the parliamentary dimension of bilateral relations, as well as strengthening ties between the legislative bodies through parliamentary diplomacy, would contribute to expanding exchanges between the two countries’ peoples.

The meeting also explored the decisions on climate action adopted during Azerbaijan’s Presidency of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, as well as cooperation within the World Urban Forum scheduled to take place in Azerbaijan in 2026.

The Azerbaijani FM briefed the top Kenyan parliamentary official about the post-conflict regional developments, Azerbaijan’s restoration and reconstruction efforts, and demining operations in the liberated territories, as well as the peace agenda.
