ILOILO AIRPORT REOPENS AFTER TEMPORARY CLOSURE

Iloilo International Airport resumed normal operations on Monday following a temporary runway closure on Sunday that disrupted nine flights, reports the Philippine News Agency (PNA).

The closure affected domestic flights, resulting in three cancellations, five delays, and one diversion.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) assured that affected airlines provided assistance to passengers to address their concerns.

“We recognize that this temporary closure may inconvenience travelers and impact the local economy. However, the safety of our passengers, crew, and aircraft remains our top priority,” Iloilo Airport Manager Manuela Luisa Palma said in a news release.

CAAP Director General Manuel Tamayo said the runway closure was essential to mitigate potential hazards and uphold strict safety standards.

Operations have since returned to normal, ensuring continued connectivity and convenience for travelers.
