During a meeting with Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Maksat Mamytkanov, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan, expressed that his country is extremely pleased with all of Azerbaijan’s achievements.
The discussion focused on preparations for COP29, with both sides noting that the process is progressing at a high pace. They emphasized the importance of shared history, culture, language, and religion in fostering relations between the Azerbaijani and Kyrgyz peoples. The ambassador highlighted that since gaining independence, the relationship between the two nations has steadily developed based on friendship and mutual understanding.
The meeting underscored the significant role of reciprocal visits at the level of Presidents in strengthening bilateral ties. The sides agreed that relations built on mutual respect and trust between the presidents, along with active political dialogue, greatly influence the dynamics of cooperation between the two countries.
Additionally, they highlighted the effective collaboration between their legislative bodies. The mutual visits of parliamentary speakers and members, as well as ongoing contact between Azerbaijani and Kyrgyz MPs within various international and regional organizations, contribute to the development of this cooperation.
The ambassador conveyed his congratulations on the successful conduct of elections to the Milli Majlis and the re-election of Sahiba Gafarova as Speaker of Parliament.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
