AZERBAIJANI PEOPLE’S ARTIST RAMIZ MALIK PASSES AWAY

Azerbaijani People’s Artist, an outstanding theater and film actor Ramiz Malik passed away on Thursday at the age of 80.

He was born on August 4, 1943 in Baku.

In 1963, he entered the faculty of drama and film acting of the Azerbaijan State Theater Institute named after Mirzagha Aliyev. He studied acting with famous actors, such as Rza Tahmasib, Tofig Kazimov and Malik Dadashov.

In 1967, the actor joined the Academic National Drama Theater troupe, having also acted as a director and assistant director in producing plays for the stage.

He has been honored with several awards such as the Azerbaijan State Prize in 1984, Honored Artist in 1982, and People’s Artist in 1998.

In recognition of his contributions to the development of theater art in Azerbaijan, Ramiz Malik was awarded “Shohrat” Order in 2019.

In 2023, he received an “Honorary Diploma of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan” in recognition of his long-standing contributions to the development of theater art in Azerbaijan.
