Azerbaijani gymnasts will compete at the 31st FISU Summer World University Games to be held in the city of Chengdu, China from July 28 to August 8.
Azerbaijan`s hopes will be pinned on Zohra Aghamirova and Ilona Zeynalova in the rhythmic gymnastics as well as Nikita Simonov and Ivan Tikhonov in the artistic gymnastics disciplines respectively.
The Azerbaijani team to compete at the Universiade will consist of 88 athletes who will join 16 sports disciplines.
The Universiade, a prestigious multi-sport event for university athletes, is expected to see participation from 110 countries worldwide. The Chengdu 2021 FISU Games will feature 269 events across 18 sports.
